Parent Volunteer Program
Bethlehem Academy has long had a parent volunteer program, asking parents to partner with the school and contribute 25 volunteer hours each academic year to events and activities at BA. Doing so allows us to build community, develop strong partnerships with our families, and keep costs down. The BA Board of Directors in 2023-2024 passed a policy requiring families who do not meet the 25 hours/school year parent requirement to contribute the value of the balance of hours not served. This policy begins with the 2024-2025 school year. Note that as part of our commitment to the four Dominican Pillars of prayer, study, community and service, students are separately required to volunteer a specific number of hours each semester through their Theology classes. Students may volunteer in the community or at BA and must follow the guidelines established by their teacher to log and submit their hours served. Student hours do not count towards parent hours.
How to Volunteer/Track Hours
BA parents are asked to set up an account with POINT, an online/app-based program, that will be replacing SignUpGenius moving forward. Parents use this program to sign up to volunteer for events, to self-submit BA volunteer hours served, and track their total hours served for the year. To ease our ability to accurately track parent hours, we ask that each adult volunteer use the same account to log their hours for the family.
